COVID-19 Vaccine Update 5 September August 2021
Florence St Family Practice is a registered Covid-19 vaccine provider. As of mid September we will commence Pfizer vaccination to patients aged between 12 and 60. The Practice will also still administer the Astra Zeneca vaccines with dose intervals shortened to boost protection to 8 weeks. If you have already received your first dose of the Astra-Zeneca vaccine without any harmful side-effects, then you are advised to proceed with your second dose. Patients are advised to phone for an appointment (as we do not have online appointments for the Covid-19 vaccine clinics).
If you seek an earlier appointment than we have available, please continue to utilise the Vaccine Eligibility Checker. It is advisable to keep checking this as new sites appear over time.
For more details about the Covid-19 vaccine roll-out, please view our Covid-19 VACCINE INFORMATION PAGE which has many useful links.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update September 2021
All patients are reminded to continue to wear a mask when attending the practice. We have a COVID Safety plan which involves checking in with a QR code linked to Service NSW. If you do not have a phone that can download apps, then staff will check you in. All people who attend the practice need to check in with the QR code including carers and family members (children too).
In order to minimise the spread of coronavirus we recommend a bulk billed telehealth consultation at this time. Face to face appointments are still available for problems that cannot be addressed over the phone. Bulk-billed Telephone and Video Appointments are available to patients who have been seen in the last 12 months. Please phone to make these appointments. On-line appointments are currently available for telehealth consultations only. For more information please view the Video and Telephone Health Call tab.
If you are unwell, particularly with respiratory symptoms i.e runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever, headaches etc. get tested and please PHONE the surgery for a bulk-billed telephone consultation, the doctor will then assess if you need to come in. The Covid-19 delta strain can also present with diarrhoea so we ask that these patients also PHONE the surgery for a telephone consultation. Please DO NOT WALK-IN without an appointment. Also, if you live in one of the Local Government Areas (LGA) of concern please organise a phone consultation.
If you are feeling very unwell– difficulty breathing, chest pains… call 000 for an ambulance.
NSW Health recommends that anyone with respiratory symptoms or unexplained fever should be tested for COVID-19. Anyone who has been in a hotspot location should also be tested. To arrange this, check the Service NSW app for testing sites or call the COVID hotline 1800 020 080 or contact the surgery.
NEW PATIENTS are advised to phone for an appointment rather than booking on-line.
