Private and Publicly funded Flu vaccines are now available to our regular patients. Please phone for an appointment.
A Winter Covid-19 Vaccine booster – four months after your last covid vaccine is currently available to: Patients over 65; Patients in residential age or disability care facilities; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders over 50 and Immunocompromised patients over 16. (If you have had the covid-19 infection after your first booster then you also need to wait four months before you receive your Winter booster). The flu vaccine can be administered on the same day as the Covid winter booster if you are eligible.

Florence St Family Practice is a registered Covid-19 vaccine provider. Pfizer vaccination is available to all patients at the practice over the age of 5 . Patients are advised to phone for an appointment (as we do not have online appointments for the Covid-19 vaccine clinics).

1st BOOSTER Covid-19 Vaccines are still available to all people over 16 years of age, THREE or more months after your first 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The date of your second vaccine is on your COVID-19 digital certificate. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are recommended as boosters in Australia. Appointments for boosters are available by telephone. A booster dose helps to strengthen your immune system and improve your long-term protection against serious illness from the COVID-19 virus. Boosters are free. You will need to bring proof of vaccination for dose 1 and 2 to your booster appointment if you did not obtain your vaccinations with us.
ATAGI also recommends a 3rd primary dose of COVID-19 vaccine in severely immunocompromised populations to maximise the level of immune response to as close as possible to the general population. This is NOT a booster dose and is available 2-6 months after your second dose. To find out if you fit into the severely category or need advice on timing, please organise a phone consultation with your GP or specialist. People who are recommended to receive a third primary dose of a COVID-19 vaccine are advised to have a 1st booster dose THREE months after their THIRD primary dose and an additional Winter booster four months after that.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update April 2022
With Covid-19 infections on the rise in the community, if you test positive, and have chronic conditions or are pregnant, please don’t delay calling the surgery for a phone consultation. Please view our Covid-19 Information Page for more information on management and other resources.
All patients are reminded to continue to wear a mask when attending the practice. We have a COVID Safety plan which involves mask wearing and hand sterilisation on entry, QR codes are no longer required.
If you are unwell, particularly with respiratory symptoms i.e runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever, headaches etc. get tested and please PHONE the surgery for a bulk-billed telephone consultation, the doctor will then assess if you need to come in. Covid-19 can also present with diarrhoea so we ask that these patients also PHONE the surgery for a telephone consultation first. Please DO NOT WALK-IN without an appointment. If you are feeling very unwell– difficulty breathing, chest pains… call 000 for an ambulance.
Generally, bulk billed telehealth consultations are available to ALL patients of the practice who have been seen in the last 12 months. Face to face appointments are also still available for problems that cannot be addressed over the phone and are not Covid-19.
NSW Health recommends that anyone with respiratory symptoms or unexplained fever should be tested for COVID-19. Anyone who has been in a hotspot location should also be tested. For more information, check the Service NSW app for testing sites or call the COVID hotline 1800 020 080 or contact the surgery.
NEW PATIENTS are advised to phone for an appointment rather than booking on-line.

Urgent medical problems will always be dealt with promptly.
The doctors are available for home visits to regular patients if they are too sick to come to the surgery. Please phone the surgery in the morning so that house calls can be made at lunchtime.
When the surgery is closed, please ring 9476 2255 for instructions on how to get after-hours care OR you can call the:
Home Doctor Service- they provide telephone advice and after hours Home Visits if required for our surgery Ph: 13 SICK (7425). In an emergency however, ring 000 for an ambulance.

Fees are payable at the time of consultation. They may be paid by cash, cheque, MasterCard or Visa.
Staff can assist with Medicare rebates in the surgery using Medicare Easyclaims.
Standard consultations for Pensioners, Children under 15, Veteran Affairs cardholders and health care cardholders are bulk-billed.
